Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Charles Leaf, 40, of Wyckoff, New Jersey on Aggravated Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child charges. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit, under the direction of Chief Steven Cucciniello and the Wyckoff Police Department, under the direction of Chief Benjamin Fox.
On October 7, 2010, members of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and the Wyckoff Police Department arrested Leaf without incident after learning that he sexually abused a four year old female acquaintance at his residence in Wyckoff
Leaf, who is married, is currently employed by FOX 5 News, New York as an investigative and general assignment reporter.
Leaf was charged with the following: one (1) count of Aggravated Sexual Assault-1st degree crime, one (1) count of Sexual Assault-2nd degree crime and one (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child-2ND degree crime.
Bail was set by Judge Frances McGrogan for Leaf at $250,000.00 dollars-no 10% option, no contact with the victim and surrender Passport, after which, LEAF was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
