You would think that an episode that opened with a confession would be a bit smoother than the previous ones-well guess again.
Once more the installment had two major plots- one that dealt with Abel’s kidnapping and the other with Gemma’s emotional return back home.
“Oiled” confirmed what we already knew, the kidnapping of Abel, is just another excuse for violence,bloody beat downs and a reason to take down a rival gang-for we already know the truth,the Sons of Anarchy will get little Abel back safe and sound.
If something was going to happen to the kid it would have happened already- too bad Jax did not get that memo.

Moving on to Katey Sagal -this woman deserves a boat load of credit for she is doing a fine job and deserves an Emmy for her performance this season.
In this episode we discovered that Gemma is human after all- she has a heart ,she has regrets and she can even get emotional at times.
You do wonder how much can one individual handle at once?
Her dad who is suffering from dementia barely remembers her, and the bitch she remembers that was mother is now dead and according to her father she became a decent person before passing away.
But leave it to Gemma in a sensitive situation such as this to hold the live-in nurse hostage.
Which brings us to the question -what is she going to do with her ailing father?

“Oiled” may have not been a filler episode in the true sense of term but you could tell that it was put together just to set up the bigger things to come.
