Watch Sonic Boom Seattle | Sonic Boom During President Barack Obama’s Visit to Seattle

Sonic Boom : Sonic boom is the sound associated with the shock waves created by the supersonic flight of an aircraft. Sonic booms generate enormous amounts of sound energy, sounding much like an explosion. The crack of a supersonic bullet passing overhead is an example of a sonic boom in miniature.

During President Barack Obama’s visit to Seattle, Two F-15 fighter jets broke the sound barrier on the hunt for an aircraft that broke the no-fly rules. A sonic boom shook windows and could be heard throughout Seattle – and residents quickly took to Twitter and Facebook to report the fuss. After the smoke had cleared, the entire event became known as Obooma.
Embarrassing for a pilot and some passengers, a privately operated float plane unknowingly violated a temporary airspace restriction and landed at a Seattle suburb.
The AP interviewed Laura Joseph, a passenger aboard the floatplane who claimed she and the pilot didn’t know anything was wrong until they landed and were told they had to talk to the Secret Service.
“Oh my God, I can’t believe – is this the top news thing?” Joseph asked the AP.
A spokeswoman for 142nd Fighter Wing of the Oregon Air National Guard in Portland said the jets were launched at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday.
