Aamir Khan’s factory product ‘Peepli Live’ has been unleashed onto the cinema goers and the response has been terrific. The film is uniquely different and stands out because of its inherent message that’s becoming a regularity of Aamir Khan’s films. ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and now ‘Peepli Live’, all propelled us to brood and reflect back on our lives.
‘Peepli Live’ is a fresh product with two simpleton farmers Natha and Budhiya at its core centre. Owing to insufferable poverty, they get embroiled in a suicide warp as the tabloid blood-hounds them to elevate their TRPs and the hooded politicians show their bare fangs. Realistic and moving,the film stays with you long after the popcorn melts and keeps tugging at your heart long after you hit the pillows.
Omkar Das Manikpuri (who has churned out the loveable character of Natha) is in a dream-like frenzied state as the limelight flashes on his, hitherto, darkened life.
Speaking to IANS, he sighs, “I never thought that I would ever work in a film, neither did I plan to work in movies. Till now I feel that I am into some dream world. I would like to work more in this industry and especially with Aamir Khan. Aamirji is a person with a very big heart. He is so down to earth and speaks so well. He never lets me feel that I am with such a big actor, director and producer.”
For all cinebuffs and Bolly-lovers, this film deserves, at least, one watch…..
