200 Million Eggs Recalled In US | Salmonella Contaminated Eggs

An egg producer in US has recalled about 200 million eggs which are said to be contaminated with the bacteria salmonella after hundreds fell ill.
An Iowa company called Wright County Egg in Galt reportedly sold more than 200 million eggs. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been probing the disease since late June and found that Salmonella is spread through contaminated eggs.
It causes a disease called Salmonella Enteritidis. It was found that in June and July that the cases of this disease have increased from 50 to 200. It is reported that Public health officials in Colorado, California and Minnesota found out that many people fell sick after eating egg items.
The company recalled eggs that had been sold since May. Though many eggs have already been eaten but there is a possibility that many eggs might still be in the refrigerator of the customers.
Salmonella can lead to stomach pains, diarrhoea and vomiting and can also cause arterial infections. The bacteria are usually destroyed if the egg is cooked properly. But, people usually fall sick due to eating raw or partially cooked eggs.
