Lake delhi Iowa Dam Breaks 27 july 2010 | Heavy Rains Cause Lake delhi Iowa Dam Break

Mud and dead fish is whats left of Lake Delhi. Over the weekend, the Lake Delhi Dam in Delaware County gave way under the rapidly rising Maquoketa River.
The nine mile long lake and properties adjacent to the lake were absolutely devastated.
The bombardment of heavy rains have led to this rapid rise of the Maquoketa River. The Lake Delhi Recreation Association will decide whether to rebuild the lake built back in 1927. According to the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Lake Delhi dam likely will be eligible for federal assistance because it received aid after major flooding in 2008
