Perhaps the top overall prospect in the minor leagues, 22-year-old outfielder Domonic Brown, is on his way to Philadelphia to make his big-league debut. The Phillies have put starting center fielder Shane Victorino on the disabled list and will call up Brown from Class AAA Lehigh Valley.
Brown hit .346 with five home runs and 21 RBI in the 28 games since he was promoted from Class AA. In 93 minor league games this season, he's put up an impressive .327-20-68 line with 17 stolen bases and a .980 OPS. His athletic 6-5 frame has made him a favorite of scouts who've salivated over him throughout his five-year minor league career.
Brown played in the All-Star Futures Game in Anaheim, but left early when his hamstring tightened up after he beat out an infield hit.
