Over The Limit 2010 presented by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) took place at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan on Sunday, May 23, 2010. It features scripted feuds and storylines of different WWE players.
WWE champion John Cena retained the WWE Title over Batista in an I Quit match on the Over the Limit PPV tonight.
The main event of the PPV ended with Batista saying he quit as Cena teased an Attitude Adjustment off the hood of a car onto the stage.
After the finish, Cena dropped Batista through the gimmicked stage. Batista disappeared through the stage, effectively ending his current run in WWE.
Cena celebrated with the WWE Title, then WWE set up his next feud. Sheamus appeared on stage behind Cena and dropped the champion with a Pump Kick. Sheamus then stood over Cena to close the PPV.
During the PPV, WWE confirmed next month’s “Fatal Four-Way” PPV will feature title matches contested in four-way matches. It appears Sheamus will be one of three challengers in Cena’s WWE Title defense.| STIPULATIONS | MATCHES | WINNERS |
